Euralarm presents its views on Smart Cities at SecTech Denmark

29 November 2016

Last week, on the occasion of the annual Scandinavian security industry exhibition SECTECH, Euralarm presented its views on Smart Cities during a seminar dedicated to the topic: Internet of Things and safety, from smart homes to Smart Cities.

Speaking to an audience of some 60 local entrepreneurs, Glen Dale Euralarm General Manager exposed Euralarm’s involvement in the development of standards related to security and safety in urban areas, a component too often overlooked when defining Smart Cities. Through Euralarm Members’ continuous efforts, the idea that a city to be smart needs to be safe secure and resilient is now accepted within the international standardisation community and is used to evaluate the related degree of technological integration.

Other presenters speaking alongside Glen Dale included James McHale, Managing Director at Memoori, a consultancy, Per Björkdahl, Chairman of the ONVIF Steering Committee, a non-profit organisation promoting global standards for IP-based physical security products, and Martin Tom-Petersen, Client Director & Partner, Smart City Catalyst.
