Now the UK has regained its regulatory autonomy since the beginning of this year, there are changes to product regulation and the UKCA mark. To allow businesses time to adjust, the UK government has allowed that CE marked goods that meet EU requirements (where these match UK requirements) can continue to be placed on the GB market until 1 January 2022.

On Wednesday 20 January 2021 CEN CENELEC will organize its first 10-10 Webinar of the New Year ‘The CEN and CENELEC Strategy 2030: highlights & implementation’. During the webinar that runs from 10:00 to 10:30 CET a comprehensive introduction to the CEN and CENELEC Strategy 2030 will be given, covering strategic context and drafting and consolidation process, vision and mission, goals and priorities. In addition, an overview of next steps will be presented regarding the new Strategy’s implementation and the monitoring and evaluation of progress. CertAlarm has announced the launch of its new Online Quoting Platform. Manufacturers who wish to get their security or fire product or system tested and certified to gain access to European markets can now easily obtain multiple quotes by filling out CertAlarm’s project information sheet via the new Online Quoting Platform just once. As a result they will obtain quotations from all or selected CertAlarm partners, all of which are experienced and accredited Certification Bodies and Test Laboratories.
The European Standards Organizations CEN, CENELEC and ETSI, have joined forces with ENISA, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, to bring you a virtual Cybersecurity Standardization Conference on ‘European Standardization in support of the EU Cybersecurity Act’, with several dedicated sessions. The 3-days event will be organized on 2, 3 and 4 Febuary 2021, each day from 13:00 - 16:45 CET. Among the sessions that are organized are the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and other legislation and Compliance aspects of the Radio Equipment Directive (February 2nd), Standardisation supporting the Cybersecurity Act and Future Schemes on IoT (February 3rd). On February 4th sessions will be organized on Future schemes for 5G and a vision of the future.
