About Us

Euralarm represents the fire and security industry, providing leadership and expertise for industry, market, policymakers and standards bodies.

Our members are both Trade Associations and Industrial Businesses that supply into the marketplace.
Currently, we have 4 sections each dedicated to a market segment - Fire Detection - Fire Suppression - Security and Services, we are governed by a board and each section has a chair and vice-chair who become part of the board

Providing leadership for more than 50 years

Our association was formed in 1970, domiciled in Zug, Switzerland. We employ a professional team, lead by Paul van der Zanden, Euralarms Director-General, our technical managers provide sector support to the market segments. We regularly organise seminars and conferences and issue briefing papers that are topical and current to market needs, the last one issued by Extinguishing proved to be a big success, was a guidance document on approved gaseous systems. it has also been translated into multiple languages and is freely available from us

At the heart of standardisation

The main work undertaken by Euralarm is the authoring of standards, working with both CEN and CENELEC, we also lead standards development, the most recent being the remote servicing of Fire and Security systems. After its work on the servicing for fire safety systems and security systems, the standard was successfully voted as a European Norm, EN 50710 in April 2021
